Study Abroad Rome - John Cabot University
GENERAL INFORMATION
 » About the School

John Cabot University was founded in 1972 as a four-year college of liberal arts and sciences, with all courses taught in English (except Italian language and literature). Today JCU is a unique accredited independent university with American roots and a distinctively international character.

The main campus is situated near St. Peter’s and the Vatican in the Trastevere quarter, with a fine-arts annex on the other side of the Tiber River. The central Rome location means that students are literally surrounded by the history and art of thousands of years. John Cabot's strategic position in this world center of diplomacy, combined with the unique relationship enjoyed with leading multinational corporations, embassies, media and international organizations, also gives JCU students the opportunity to participate in exclusive internship programs and to be first-run candidates for distinguished job openings in the vibrant inter-national market.

The distinguished faculty of over 70 full and part-time professors from around the world are dedicated to teaching and ensuring that students receive the individual attention needed to fully develop their talents and abilities. Most classes are relatively small and interactive; the language of instruction is English. In addition, John Cabot University is proud to host a comprehensive schedule of academic and professional lectures, featuring prominent representatives from around the world.

John Cabot students come from all over the world. At any given time, approximately 50 different countries are represented. People from varied backgrounds, different faiths, all continents and all races make up the student body and provide a rich and unique opportunity for true international communication and understanding.
